Just south of the I70 footbridge, the trail passes between two private properties. The owner of the property on the left put up this rope to discourage hikers from cutting across the corner of their property. Don't be put off by the proximity of private residential yards, but just be careful to stay on the trail and be respectful of these properties. The trail leads to Boonsboro Mountain Road where it jogs left slightly where it crosses the road.
