Stone platform for overlook of North Frederick

This stone platform, located just north of the main High Knob Area, is for viewing South Frederick in the valley below. This is located in a small park devoted to remembering the contributions of the CCC.

Obstructed view of North Frederick

When one gets up on top of the stone platform, the summer view of the valley below is not improved; it is obstructed by trees. Maybe the view is better in winter.

Plaque commemorating the contributions of the CCC

Adjacent to the stone viewing platform is this plaque mounted on a stone. The plaque commemorates the contributions of the Civilian Conservation Corp (CCC).

Statue of a CCC volunteer

This statue of a CCC volunteer demonstrates gratitude to all the volunteers who did so much to make our country a better place in which to live.

View of the Gambrill State Park Nature Center

This nature center is located just a bit north of the South Frederick Overlook, and is open on weekends only. On other days you can peer in through the windows or check out this bulletin board with a park map and various notices.
