Here a Figeater Beetle (Cotinis mutabilis) was seen hiking the Appalachian Trail in early September. It was sluggish, perhaps a bit past its crawl-by date.

This Reticulated Netwinged Beetle (Calopteron reticulatum) was not exactly hiking the trail, but it was enjoying a lovely September day.
