Deer startled on the trail

This is the view of the High Knob area looking south from the parking lot. The building in the background, when looking through the trees, is the Tea Room, which was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC). It overlooks the valley and hills south of here, and is perched on the edge of High Knob. The Black and Green Trails descend High Knob just to the left of the Tea Room.

Here is a closer view of the side of the Tea Room, showing the porch, which overlooks a beautiful view of the valley south of High Knob.

This is the view from the porch of the Tea Room. The view, which overlooks the valley and hills south of High Knob, is outstanding.

This plaque, commemorating James H. Gambrill, Jr., was mounted on a rock near the parking lot, west of the Tea Room. He was a motivating force in the creation of Gambrill Park.
