Pine Knob Shelter
(Gallery Has Four Pictures)

Close view of shelter. This shelter is one of those old time shelters that provided a lot of protection if a cold wind was blowing. It also kindly provided a food preparation table under the overhang.

This view of the shelter includes a view of the bear pole where you can hang your food bag where bears can't reach.
Note also that there is a fire ring in front of the shelter, so if you have the energy you could make yourself a nice roaring fire.

The local latrine was comfortable. I also understand that there is a water source nearby, maybe west of the shelter, but I never researched it.

Interestingly, there was a lot of extra stuff at the shelter that day: a pair of boots and a folding chair to make shelter life comfortable.
