These aster (Asteraceae) flowers were growing by the side of the trail. I'm uncertain what kind of asters these are, and would appreciate any feedback a reader could offer me on that.

On a rock in the middle of the trail I found this scat. Is it maybe from a rabbit? This is what real looks like on the Appalachian Trail.
