This thicket of Mountain Laurel was flowering in summer. Mountain Laurel normally blossoms in spring, but at this elevation a few plants still had flowers.

Here is a closeup of the lovely Mountain Laurel flowers. Note that you can see that earlier blossoms had come and gone.
