Ascension Chapel Gazebo

(Gallery Has Two Pictures)

Very large stone gazebo in the garden re-creation of Ascension Chaep on Mount of Olives in Israel

This octagonal gazebo in the garden is a re-creation of the large Mount of Olives Ascension Chapel in shape, but this structure is much more open and airy like a gazebo than the chapel on the Mount of Olives It commemorates the ascension of Jesus into heaven 40 days after his resurrection.

Looking up at the painted ceiling of the very large gazebo in the garden

Another difference from the Mount of Olives chapel, is the ceiling: the ceiling of the gazebo chapel is decoratively pained with spiritual themes, and in the center features the Greek letters chi and rho superimposed on each other, for Christ the King.
