This sign is posted at the northern-most trailhead of the Catoctin Trail. It alerts you to the point of entrance to the Catoctin Mountain Park, administered by the National Park Service (NPS).

This northern-most trailhead sits right by a farmer's field.

Across the street from the park is the Mount Zion United Methodist Church and its cemetary. If you walk up the road past the church, you can hike to the Appalachian Trail in about three miles. Click link at top to visit the Appalachian Trail in Maryland.

There were some tiny blue chicory flowers blooming in the grass next to the church's cemetary, and this is a close-up of the center of one of them.
