The Herbert H. Bateman Educational and Administrative Center is a valuable resource for any visitor to the wilflife refuge on Assateague. There are educational lectures, information about activities at the refuge, and access to helpful rangers.
Information about the center is avaiable at the webpage for the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge. I recommend the center as a first stop while visiting the refuge.
