Appalachian Trail ... Hiking the Maryland Challenge ... Weverton Cliffs Turnoff

(Gallery Has Two Pictures)

Side trail with sign on a post indicating that it leads to the Weverton Cliffs Overlook. The sign also indicates the change in direction for the Appalachian Trail.

This sign stands prominently in the trail where the Appalachian Trail makes a turn between the South Mountain ridge going north and descending down the hill to the west to Keep Tryst Road. A blue blazed side trail turns off to the southeast toward Weverton Cliffs, one of my favorite overlooks.

Spider with leftover food wrapped up in its web

I noticed this spider near the overlook side trail. Apparently this spider has solved the problem of what to do with leftovers *heh*.
