Appalachian Trail ... Hiking the Maryland Challenge ... Buzzard Knob

(Gallery Has Four Pictures)

Buzzard Knob is an interesting place to visit. It's west of the Appalachian Trail, but there is no trail leading to it; you need to bushwhack your way to it. Here is a view as I was ascending the side of it from the west. I don't actually recommend Buzzard Knob as a destination--it's kind of over grown with trees and scraggly vegetation.

Once I had ascended it, I found there was more up to ascend, as seen here.

Finally, I found a nice place next to a tree here for lunch.

Here is a nice view from Buzzard Rock looking south west. Note that these pictures are all in winter, so there aren't any leaves to get in the way of the views.
